A form of video conferencing allowing services to be provided to clients through an online portal.
People who prefer to receive counseling or therapy services in the privacy of their own home, and people who require their sessions to take place outside of the normal workday tend to do well with Telehealth services.
At AP Therapeutic Practice the online platform Simple Practice is utilized for all provider-client communications. This includes messaging and video conferencing.
In-person sessions take place in an office, or other specified place, where the client and provider can talk openly and work on specific skills. One benefit of in-person sessions is that the client and provider can clearly see body language and other non-verbal cues that are helpful to a therapeutic relationship.
People who do not have a stable internet connection, or reliable devices, will likely need to engage in in-person sessions.
At AP Therapeutic Practice, where we engage in in-person sessions will depend on the goals of the session. If we are working on social emotional skills for a toddler, we might meet at a child friendly location. If we are discussing cognitive behavior therapy techniques such as thought stopping, or thought replacement, we would likely meet in a quiet office space. Where the client and provider engage in in-person sessions will always be decided by both parties.
AP Therapeutic Practice is credentialed for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Alliance, Optum, BCBS Medicare, and United Health Care.
A self pay rate of $100 per session is also offered.
